A new approach to summary-writing for overseas students.
This book contains sixty graded passages, providing three years' work, especially suited to those preparing for the Cambridge Lower Certificate in English and Proficiency examinations. Part One gives guidance in summary writing and Part Two brings the student to formal precis writing.
In this new edition the texts are unchanged, but the accompanying exercises have been brought into line with current thinking about language teaching. Part One now contains multiple choice questions, exercises on sentence structure and a greater variety of composition topics. In Part Two, questions dealing mainly with sentence structure have been added.
