I purchased Schaum's Outline of College Algebra, which was chock-full of helpful examples and ways to understand the math. Not this one. The Precalculus Outline is just that, an Outline, but it's a bit weird because it's so thick. If it's an Outline, it should be at most 100 pp to cover all the formulas and theorems of PreCal math. But instead it "appears" to instruct, but never really does, diving right into the most advanced theorems and formulas and giving tons of problems to solve. It should really be called a "Problem Solver" because it has such little explanation and theory. But even then, it's not very good, because, in typical Schaum's style, the solutions are abbreviated, skipping many steps and then presenting the answer. I love my Schaum's College Algebra book. I learned the Theory of Equations from that book. But Precalculus? Stay away! Buy a used PreCalculus book. You'll need it. And except for some extra problem practice, this book is useless and too advanced for even a proper "Review".
