Dr. Humphry Osmond is the seminal researcher in the field of LSD and hallucinogenics in general. In fact, he is credited with originally coining the term "psychedelics." For anyone interested in the subject, this is the one book to read. This is a serious book that not only approaches the subject from a purely "mind-expanding" perspective, but also from a scientific one. Not withstanding the ground-breaking research of Dr. Oscar Janiger - whose patient list allegedly included legendary actor Cary Grant (among other famous personalities) - Dr. Osmond understood more about this subject than anyone and made many interesting discoveries including the effectiveness of LSD in curing alcoholism (but there's much more here than time and space allows). Dr. Osmond's contibution is all but impossible to over-estimate. Based upon my research (and others) on the subject he is arguably the most knowledgeable of all. He is probably the most brilliant author on the subject (outside of Dr. Albert Hoffmann). I could go on further, but buy this book and judge for yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Worth every penny.
