A project of member countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), it takes place at three-year intervals. In 2003. the main focus in PISA was mathematics, while reading, science and cross-curricular problem solving were emphasised to a lesser extent. The focus of this guide is on the performance of 15-year olds in Ireland in mathematics in 2003. relative to their counterparts in other participating countries.
