Pannini, 1982. — 52 c.
1982 saw Spain hosting the FIFA World Cup for the first time, and, it is also the first time that Panini put shiny 'foil' stickers into their World Cup Sticker Albums! Which is a relief, as here at FootballStickipedia.com we love the shinys. The first page is resplendent in its shiny glory, with the Tournament Logo, Tournament Mascot (a gleeful apple from the look of things, whose football boots look about 12 sizes too small), and World Cup Trophy all glittering beautifully.
The Panini Espana 82 World Cup Sticker Album is also the first to do away with the pages looking back to previous tournaments, so the following page jumps to the tournament programme with spaces to fill in scores and results, and the stadiums. There are also some artsy-fartsy looking poster stickers along the top of the page. After 3 pages of stadiums and posters, the national team pages begin, this year with the title holders Italy.
The teams each receive a shiny (thank goodness) badge sticker, a team photo sticker and 16 squad football stickers, spread across two pages per team. Unfortunately for New Zealand, El Salvador and Kuwait, they only receive a single page, the football stickers here are two players each, so they still manage to squeeze in 16 squad football stickers.
