On the Brink of Armageddon highlights the key details of the revisionist theory that British documentarian Peter Hounam proposed in his 2003 book Operation Cyanide: Why the Bombing of the USS Liberty Nearly Caused World War III. From Hounam’s breakthrough work and the work of previous and subsequent authors it can be deduced that President Johnson masterminded both the Six-Day War of 1967 and the Israeli attack on the Liberty, which he planned as a false flag attack, not unlike his Gulf of Tonkin hoax. Evidently Johnson intended the sinking of the Liberty to serve as a pretext for the U.S. to publicly join Israel’s war.

The work of Stephen Green in the 1980s, principally his book, Living By the Sword: America and Israel in the Middle East, revealed that the U.S. was deeply operationally involved in the Six-Day War and must have been colluding with Israel for many months.

“On the Brink” details some of the evidence supporting Hounam’s inconceivable theory that LBJ planned to provoke WWIII, by bombing a Soviet air base near Cairo with a relatively small, nuclear-tipped weapon. Cairo – and the rest of the world -- were apparently spared the intended bombing attack by the miraculous good fortune of the Liberty’s narrow escape from its intended fate.
