It is in my professional opinion that this book prepares the engineer/physicist and applied mathematician, to discuss and deal with the embedded non-linearity observed in fluid-structure systems. These systems are found in a wide range of applications from aerospace and industrial engineering to biomechanical engineering. The text is well written in a concise and logical manner providing enough theoretical background along with experimental evidence to help understand the importance of nonlinear analysis in fluid-structure interaction. It follows a logical progression from linear concepts/theory to nonlinear elasticity analysis prior to studying the vibration and nonlinear response of thin structures subjected to flowing fluid. It proves to be an excellent reference for a nonlinear analysis course (in nonlinear vibrations, fluid-structure analysis, nonlinear elasticity, etc...). I highly recommend this book for anyone (graduate and undergraduate students, professors, R&D) who is interested in performing research in nonlinear fluid-structure interactions. I believe that this book will be used as a reference for nonlinear fluid-structure interaction problems for decades to come.
