Materials and learning tasks in this book is organized into two learning cycles: oral cycle and writing cycle. While oral cycle emphasizes the development of oral language skills (listening and speaking), writing cycles develop skills in written language (reading and writing). In accordance with the principle of coherence in language learning, the second cycle of the four language skills is developed in an integrated manner. Both orally and writing cycles are composed of four kinds of learning activities. In addition, for purposes of enrichment and evaluation, each unit is equipped with a structured homework assignments and review.
