This booklet, Historical Arms Series No. 13, presents the schematic plans for standardized artillery mounts and carriages in the mid-nineteenth century. It is a facsimile reprint of parts of the Aide Memoire to the Military Sciences begun as a result of a memo sent to officers of the Royal Engineers in 1843. The earliest plates are dated 1844 and the first edition was published in six volumes between 1846 and 1851. Presented here are 32, 24, and 18 pounder garrison carriages, howitzers, carronades, field guns, mountain artillery, rocket carriages, and carts and wagons.
