The problems are usually not hard. Some problems require a lot of algebraic manipulation. The examples usually cover most problems at the end of the chaper. Study the examples carefully and you should be able to do most problems. The exposition/explanation is poor. You just cannot understand what the authors are trying to say. Some problems are not explained in the text. For example, in section 1.2 there are a few problems about "one-parameter family of solutions", but the text does not have anything about "one-parameter family of solutions". Then you have to look up the definition online. If you are a student, you will have to consult online resources and other textbooks. If you are an instructor, please do not use this book. It will not help students learn.
