Dynamic Figure Drawing is undoubtedly the best book on the topic.Along with the quality of the book, the level of difficulty is also 5 stars-maybe more.I've drawn every page of this book 3 times in a row(I dare you to try that)and I'm still perfecting the material, but if I had to be back where I was when I started the first time I'd feel overwhelmed. As a teacher Hogarth used the techniques in this book(and his others)to train many of the talented professional comic book artists of the 1970's.So obviously it's not impossible to learn the material but it is difficult and intimidating until you decide to put in the PRACTICE it requires to master his techniques-there is a logic to it.Figure drawing from memory is the most difficult and important aspect of original art,but once you master it everything else in art becomes easier to learn(and less time consuming). This book focuses on a difficult but not impossible subject. So if you're an aspiring comic book artist,3-D computer artist,or animator this book will get you there. And if you're self taught you're going to have to work even harder.
