In this work, the author’s starting point for the studies of the ethnic history of the Scythians, Sarmatians, Goths and Alans is the time of their migration to the Crimean peninsula. The work highlights and proposes solutions to some of the problems which are quite essential for the reconstruction of Crimea’s ethnic history. It concerns namely the ethnic origins of the Kyzyl-Koba culture, the factors due to which different nomadic Scythian cultures came into being, the continuity of development of an early Scythian culture into a late one, the time when the Sarmatians first came to Crimea, and the penetration of the Goth tribes and Alans into Crimea.
