Ideas of how love is lived and how it should be lived vary depending on the different periods. In the ""bourgeois"" 19th century an idea was popular which today has become quite alien that partnerships are especially desirable that have their basis in childhood. An ideal existed according to which friendships of childhood days should be the basis for erotic relationships and marriages.
