Churchite, the hydrous yttrium phosphate, has been reported from weathered chert, shale and limestone sequences and weathered granite pegmatite and vein deposits. This note documents the occurrence of secondary, supergene churchite formed during laterization of the Proterozoic Mt Weld carbonatite, Western Australia.
