There are increasing relevant evidences in favor of the role of IgE in cancer immune surveillance and there are several new approaches exploiting IgE to treat cancer which include the development of IgE specific for cancer antigens, the use of using IgE as adjuvant of cancer vaccines, and novel vaccination approaches capable of triggering an anti-tumor IgE response. The book will include extensive epidemiological studies and preclinical results of IgE-based approaches.

The editors and their collaborators believe that the role of IgE in cancer immune surveillance has been somewhat overlooked and the use of IgE-based anti-cancer approaches underexploited. The ''First AllergoOncology International Symposium'' that took place in Vienna on April 16, 2007. The information can be found in the website ''www.allergooncology.org''. The keynote speakers at the 2007 meeting are potential contributors of our book.
