This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th Australian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, AI 2005, held in Sydney, Australia in December 2005.

The 77 revised full papers and 119 revised short papers presented together with the abstracts of 3 keynote speeches were carefully reviewed and selected from 535 submissions.
