The Kaplan book is direct, concise, and well-organized. In general, I liked it. However, some of Kaplan's explanations were a bit TOO concise. In those cases, I found myself going back to Multivariable Calculus (Stewart's Calculus Series) -- i.e., the second half of Stewart's big calculus book, published separately so that you don't get a hernia from carrying it around. If you grasp a point quickly, Kaplan is better; if you need more help, Stewart is better. One complaint: The Kaplan book is very cheaply bound. By the end of the semester, my copy was falling apart.
