Frantz Fanon's name has for two decades now been identified with an indictement of colonialism and а commitment to liberation struggles in the Third World. Studies in а Dying Colonialism was written in the fifth уеаг of the Algerian Revolution. Throughout these years Fanon worked as а pyschiatrist in an Algerian hospital. ln this book he not only identifies the justice of the Algerian cause and analyzes the relations between colonial and subject peoples, but also shows how the experience of nationalist struggle radically altered traditional attitudes to the family, woman, technology and medicine. ln short, how а new socialist nation was formed. At а time when the developing world is dominated Ьу revolutionary struggles, Fanon's study continues to be of prime importance. "The Third World finds itself and speaks to itself through his voice." Jean Paul Sartre "Among the most enlightening books yet to Ье written on the psychology of the revolutionary spirit in the developing world." African Forum
