The monograph presents the information about a separate group of parasitic worms – the
acanthocephalans. The general section of the monograph contains an analysis of the current
views on the morphology, biology, ecology, origin, phylogeny and systematics of the acantho-
cephalans. The systematic part presents the comprehensive information about 59 species of
acanthocephalans of the fauna of Ukraine, as well as diagnoses and identification keys to all
taxa, illustrated descriptions of the species, information on their distribution in Ukraine and
worldwide, lists of their definitive and intermediate hosts. Analyzed the host range, the biotopi-
cal and geographical distribution of the acanthocephalans of the fauna of Ukraine. Given the
list of the hosts and the index of Latin names of taxa of acanthocephalans.
For parasitologists and zoologists, university teachers and students.
