Notes on Book of Waterways written by Li Daoyuan is historical and geographical writing, records more than a thousand waterways and the region's natural landscape, traces of human history, administrative organization, and related historical events, myths, legends, characters allusions, folk property, etc. The book cites 400 kinds of books to record the inscriptions of the Han and Wei dynasties. Based on SiBuCongKan'四部叢刊', the book references 35 kinds of versions, using 120 large number of local history and other literature data, integrating his own experience for more than 60 years, absorbing academic achievements of Wang Guowei, Hu Shi, Cen Zhongmian Sen Lusan, and so on, correcting the punctuation and language of the original book. The ending of each chapter includes correcting different text, discriminating mistakes, complementing the different text, and testing the whole story.
