Many years have passed since the last time when the problems of the Pre-Roman Iron Age chronology of Scandinavia were debated at large. That was at the Nordic Archaeological Meeting of 1951 in Helsinki, a meeting which became a turning point in the discussion. It is therefore with the greatest pride that I now present a selection of fresh views on the topic. Most of the papers stem from a conference held December 8th, 1992 at the Institute of Prehistoric and Classic Archaeology, University of Copenhagen, except a few contributions which were later included in the report.
