《夏克梁钢笔建筑画新作集》内容简介：作者于2003年编写了《建筑画·麦克笔表现》一书，在编写过程中，书中需要大量的麦克笔插图。麦克笔颜色因其透明等特点，上色时须以清晰的钢笔线为底稿，因此深感钢笔画对于麦克笔、钢笔淡彩等其他快速表现手法的重要性。
对于作者而言，真正意义上以钢笔作为写生工具是在2004年的夏天，是继《建筑画·麦克笔表现》出版之后，着手编写《钢笔建筑写生与创作》之前。考虑到书中需要大量的写生案例，在前往重庆、四川、甘肃等地的采风过程中，作者努力尝试采用钢笔作为主要的记录工具。在整个写生过程中，深刻体会到钢笔画是一种取材便捷、表现力丰富的绘画形式，从此便与钢笔画结下了不解之缘。
