The barrel is air cooled and chrome plated to ensure long life. It may be changed in a matter of seconds under battle conditions. Safety is guaranteed, the firing pin is an integral part of the breech mechanism and cannot operate prior to locking of the breech block. Operation of the GPMG is by the open bolt system, ensuring that no live cartridges are left in a hot chamber - "cook off" is therefore not possible.Specifications.
