The Carmen Saliare is one of the most puzzling texts of ancient Latin tradition. This book offers a new commentary of the surviving fragments of this hymn and addresses the several issues it poses from linguistic, philological and cultural points of view. The analysis of all the testimonies suggests new interpretative paths that shed new light on the text and help to better understand the complex puzzle of the Carmen Saliare.
