《新爱洛漪丝》由卢梭著，描写18世纪贵族姑娘于丽·岱当惹和她的年轻的家庭教师、平民知识分子圣·普栾的恋爱故事。于丽的父亲是个封建等级观念极深的贵族，坚决反对这一对情人的结合。于现起初听从自己的心声，已委身于圣·普栾，后又屈服于父亲的意志，嫁给了门当户对的贵族阶级的中年男子德·伏尔玛尔。圣·普栾不得不离开于丽。于丽婚后向丈夫吐露了自己过去与圣·普栾的恋爱经过，德·伏尔玛尔为表示对他们的信任，把圣·普栾接到家中。这对旧情人朝夕相处，极力抑制内心的感情，但为此深感痛苦。后来于丽的儿子不慎落水，她投身湖中去救他。母子被救起，但于丽不久即病殁，死前遗书圣·普栾，说自己以生命为代价。 《新爱洛漪丝》适合文学经典爱好者阅读。
