London: Arms and Armour Press, 1986. — 64 p.
The titles in this all-picture paperback series have been carefully researched by well-known specialist writers. In this volume, the Sopwith Aviation Co. Ltd. developed the elegant little BS1 (renamed SE2), and the the Sopwith SS1 Tabloid in quantity. Most Sopwith fighters were well liked by most of their pilots. The two-seat 1-1/2 Strutter remains a classic and historic type. Substantial progress was made with the endearing Pup, engaging triplane, electrifying Camel, and the enigmatic Snapper and Snark of 1918-19.
It was remarkable how much design and development went into production in a mere five years.
