NASA Technical Translation, 1968. 111 p. Translation of: "Analisis, Control y Di seno de un Sistema Mecanico Sujeto a Vibraciones", Universidad Autonoma da San Luis Potosi (Mexico) Ph.D. Thesis, 1967, 157 pages.
The discussion begins with a definition of vibrations, how they originate and their principle causes as well as their classification for study. The vibrations are analyzed according to this classification and the manner in which they should be studied. Attention is given to differ ent methods used in solving the vibration problems according to the precision required and the time and means available. Known methods that are used to control the vibrations when they can not be avoided in the design due to factors of cost and manufacture, are described. The application of isolators to control the vibrations in an internal combustion machine is discussed. The more important instruments used in the measurement of vibrations are described. Conclusions derived from the study are given.
