This Symposium is one of a series started in 1983 in Quantico, VA, USA. The Second Symposium was held in Neurim, Israel, 1986. - The Symposia have international attendance. The main purpose of these Symposia is to provide a forum for the discussion of the special problems in the field of analysis and detection of explosives: fundamental =studies, applications, development of instrumentation and methods and their evaluation and the improvement of established techniques.) About 20 countries are expected to be represented at the Symposium. -The Symposium also includes the display of instrumentation and equipment rpecialized for the needs of the analysis and detection of explosives research community. Professor Jehuda Yinon of The Weiznann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel and Dr. Frank Conrad of Sandia National Laboratory, Albuquerque, NM, USA, have been invited as Keynote Speakers.
